Before you apply for your Luma card, here are some answers to common questions about your Luma credit card application.
Who can apply for a Luma credit card?

I have a Capital One card. Can I apply for a Luma card?
The Luma card is issued by Capital One. If you’ve had a Capital One account for more than 6 months, you can also apply for the Luma card today.
What information do I need to apply for the Luma card?
Before you apply for your Luma card, you may want to get the following information together first: the addresses of where you’ve lived for the last 6 years, your employment status, and the length of time you’ve been with your bank. If you want to transfer balances from your other credit or store cards today, you’ll also need to provide your credit card and store card numbers, along with the balance information.
Why are you asking how long I’ve been at my address?
If you have been at your current address for less than 2 years, we’ll ask you for your previous address to help establish your residence history.
Is it safe to apply for my Luma credit card online?
When you provide your personal information, it’s kept safe through SSL encryption technology.
What happens after I’ve completed my Luma application?
Once you’ve completed your Luma application, we’ll evaluate your information and make a decision. If you’re accepted for a Luma card, we’ll try to tell you instantly online—in up to 60 seconds. However, in some cases, we may need more time to evaluate your application. If that’s the case, we’ll contact you within the next 7-10 working days.
When do I get my Luma card once I’ve been accepted?
After you’re accepted, you should receive your Luma card in 7-10 working days. To protect your account security, you’ll receive your PIN first in a separate document.
When will I get the PIN for my Luma card?
You should receive your PIN a few days before you get your Luma card. If you don’t receive your PIN within 7 days of being accepted, please contact us and we’ll send you another one.
Should I change my PIN?
To enhance your security, it’s a good idea to change your assigned PIN to a number that’s easy for you to remember, is used only for your Luma card, and isn’t easy for someone else to guess. Changing your PIN is easy. You can do so at any high street bank cash machine in the UK that features the MasterCard or Visa logo.
I’ve been declined for a credit card before – does this mean Luma will decline me?
Not necessarily. You may be accepted for the Luma card—even if you’ve had credit issues in the past. Learn more about eligibility requirements for the Luma credit card.
Should I apply again if my Luma application gets declined?
Please wait at least 6 months before you apply again for a Luma card. You’ll be declined again if you apply before that. Remember that declined applications impact your credit rating so try not to submit too many credit card applications.
